About

Pygmalion is located in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. The gallery was inspired by the work of one of Kazakhstan's most productive artists, Yerbolat Tolepbay, a holder of the French Order of the Chevalier des Arts et Lettres. Tolepbay represents the third generation of painters in the history of local art, his works have largely determined the unique character of Kazakhstani painting. The search for a new language, individual artistic style, and connection with history - these values, developed throughout the creative path of the artist, became the foundation for the gallery Pygmalion.

The gallery actively organizes exhibitions of post-war, modernist, and contemporary art, supports young artists, and develops educational programs. Pygmalion regularly participates in international events, contributing to the development and promotion of Central Asian art on the international art scene.
